Harlyn Surf Life Saving Club was formed 1989 after the closure of the independent boat rescue organisation, Harlyn Rescue. Over the years the club has grown massively and now trains Nippers, Juniors, Seniors and Sandhoppers. Harlyn Surf Lifesaving Club is affiliated to Surf Life Saving GB which is the National Governing Body for Life Saving Sport. There are more than 80 Surf Life Saving Clubs and 5,000 individuals who are affiliated to SLSGB, with more joining every year

Our club is an independent charity with the following aims:

  • To promote beach safety awareness and education.
  • To provide lifesaving training at all levels, from Nipper to professional Lifeguards
  • To support our members who wish to participate in competition

Our Clubhouse is located below the Carpark at Harlyn Bay and the club is run solely by volunteers who have a passion for the club. We rely heavily on the RNLI Lifeguards and Parent Helpers/ Community volunteers to help provide appropriate levels of safety cover. We endeaver to provide training to volunteers where appropriate.

Please be aware that all of us have families and work commitments and we try to do the best we can. Support from helpers is always greatly appreciated.

If you would like to join please take a look at our Membership page.
